Sometimes you see the 7(#5) chord written like or 7+, 7(+5), or 7aug. It’s all the same. A dominant 7 with a raised 5th.

I give a lesson explaining why I think the 7(#5) chord causes controversy in Jazz. I go over what the chord is and also give examples of some songs that contain 7(#5) chords. I also explain what scales to use when improvising on a 7#5 chord. Many people approach it the wrong way. I also demonstrates some common 7(#5) chord voicings.

Don’t get stuck not knowing what to play, or playing the wrong things over it.

Enjoy!
Adam
